Ingredients

  • 1 pound ground beef or Italian sausage
  • 1 onion, diced
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 can (28 oz) crushed tomatoes
  • 4 cups beef or vegetable broth
  • 1 teaspoon dried oregano
  • 1 teaspoon dried basil
  • 8 oz uncooked lasagna noodles, broken
  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • Fresh basil, for garnish

Instructions

  1. In a skillet, cook ground beef or sausage until browned. Drain excess fat.
  2. Add cooked meat, onion, and garlic to the slow cooker.
  3. Pour in crushed tomatoes and broth. Stir in oregano and basil.
  4. Cover and cook on low for 6-8 hours.
  5. Add broken noodles and cook on high for another 30 minutes until noodles are tender.
  6. Stir in mozzarella and Parmesan cheeses until melted and creamy.
  7. Serve hot, garnished with fresh basil.
