- 1 pound ground beef or Italian sausage
- 1 onion, diced
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 can (28 oz) crushed tomatoes
- 4 cups beef or vegetable broth
- 1 teaspoon dried oregano
- 1 teaspoon dried basil
- 8 oz uncooked lasagna noodles, broken
- 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
- 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- Fresh basil, for garnish
Instructions
- In a skillet, cook ground beef or sausage until browned. Drain excess fat.
- Add cooked meat, onion, and garlic to the slow cooker.
- Pour in crushed tomatoes and broth. Stir in oregano and basil.
- Cover and cook on low for 6-8 hours.
- Add broken noodles and cook on high for another 30 minutes until noodles are tender.
- Stir in mozzarella and Parmesan cheeses until melted and creamy.
- Serve hot, garnished with fresh basil.
Notes
- You can substitute ground turkey or chicken for beef.
- Adjust seasoning to taste, adding red pepper flakes for spice.
