- 1 pound ground beef or turkey
- 1 small onion, diced
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 can (10.5 oz) condensed cream of mushroom or cream of chicken soup
- 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
- 2 cups frozen tater tots
- 1/2 cup sour cream
- 1 teaspoon paprika
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Fresh herbs (parsley or chives) for garnish
Instructions
- In a large skillet, heat a little oil over medium heat. Add the diced onion and cook until translucent. Add the ground beef or turkey and cook until browned. Stir in the minced garlic, salt, pepper, and paprika. Drain excess fat and remove from heat.
- In a mixing bowl, combine the condensed soup, sour cream, and half of the shredded cheese. Mix until smooth.
- Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Spread the cooked meat mixture evenly in a baking dish. Pour the creamy soup mixture over the meat, then sprinkle with remaining cheese. Arrange frozen tater tots evenly on top.
- Bake for 25-30 minutes until tater tots are golden and crispy. For extra crunch, broil for 2-3 minutes, keeping a close eye.

- For a lighter version, use ground turkey or chicken.
- Add cooked bacon, jalapeños, or switch to pepper jack cheese for extra flavor.
