Ingredients
Scale
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 packet (2 1/4 tsp) active dry yeast
- 1 cup warm milk
- 1/4 cup unsalted butter, melted
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 tsp sugar
- 1 tsp salt
- 1 egg
- Fresh parsley for garnish
Instructions
- In a small bowl, dissolve yeast and sugar in warm milk. Let sit for 5-10 minutes until frothy.
- In a large mixing bowl, combine flour, salt, and minced garlic. Add the activated yeast mixture, melted butter, and egg. Mix until a dough forms.
- Knead the dough on a floured surface for about 8-10 minutes until smooth and elastic.
- Place dough in a greased bowl, cover with a damp cloth, and let rise for 1 hour until doubled.
- Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Punch down the dough and divide into 12 equal pieces. Shape each into a round ball and place on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
- Brush the tops with melted butter and sprinkle with chopped parsley if desired.
- Bake for 15-18 minutes until golden brown. Serve warm.
Notes
- Ensure milk is warm, not hot, to activate yeast properly.
- For extra flavor, add grated Parmesan or rosemary to the dough.
- These rolls are best enjoyed fresh but can be stored in an airtight container for up to 2 days.
