Ingredients

  • 1 cup brown sugar
  • 1/4 cup light corn syrup
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 1/2 cups chopped nuts (pecans, walnuts, or almonds)

Instructions

  1. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper and set aside.
  2. In a heavy saucepan, melt butter over medium heat.
  3. Add brown sugar, corn syrup, and salt. Bring to a boil, stirring constantly.
  4. Cook until the mixture reaches 300°F (hard crack stage), about 10-12 minutes.
  5. Remove from heat and stir in vanilla and nuts.
  6. Pour the mixture onto the prepared baking sheet and spread evenly.
  7. Allow to cool completely before breaking into pieces.
