Ingredients

  • 1 package active dry yeast
  • ½ cup sugar
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1 cup warm milk
  • ½ cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 2 large eggs
  • Dried cranberries and raisins for filling
  • Powdered sugar for topping

Instructions

  1. In a bowl, combine warm milk, yeast, and a teaspoon of sugar. Let sit until frothy, about 5 minutes.
  2. In a large mixing bowl, combine flour, remaining sugar, salt, and cinnamon.
  3. Add the yeast mixture, melted butter, and eggs to the dry ingredients. Mix until a dough forms.
  4. Knead on a floured surface for 8-10 minutes until smooth and elastic.
  5. Place dough in a greased bowl, cover, and let rise in a warm place until doubled in size, about 1 hour.
  6. Roll out the dough into a rectangle, spread with dried cranberries and raisins, then roll up tightly and shape into a loaf.
  7. Place in a greased loaf pan, cover, and let rise for 30 minutes.
  8. Bake at 350°F (175°C) for 35-40 minutes until golden brown.
  9. Cool slightly, then dust with powdered sugar before serving.
