- 1 packet (2 1/4 teaspoons) active dry yeast
- 3/4 cup warm milk
- 1/4 cup unsalted butter, melted
- 1 large egg
Instructions
- In a small bowl, dissolve yeast in warm milk and let sit for 5 minutes until frothy.
- In a large mixing bowl, combine flour, sugar, and salt.
- Add the yeast mixture, melted butter, and egg to the dry ingredients and knead until smooth and elastic.
- Cover the dough and let rise in a warm place for 1 hour or until doubled in size.
- Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).
- Punch down the dough and divide into 8 equal pieces, shaping each into a ball and placing on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
- Let the rolls rise for an additional 20 minutes.
- Bake for 15-18 minutes or until golden brown.
- Serve warm with butter or jam.
Notes
- You can prepare the dough the night before and refrigerate overnight for fresh morning rolls.
- Brush the tops with melted butter before baking for extra flavor.
