Ingredients

  • 2 large apples, peeled and diced
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon

  • 2/3 cup milk
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • For the glaze: 1 cup powdered sugar, 2 tablespoons milk, 1/2 teaspoon vanilla

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Grease a baking sheet.
  2. In a bowl, mix flour, sugar, baking powder, cinnamon, and salt.
  3. In another bowl, combine milk, egg, and vanilla. Add to dry ingredients and mix until smooth.
  4. Fold in diced apples.
  5. Drop spoonfuls onto the prepared baking sheet and flatten slightly.
  6. Bake for 15-20 minutes until golden brown.
  7. In a small bowl, whisk together powdered sugar, milk, and vanilla to make the glaze.
  8. Drizzle glaze over warm fritters before serving.
