Instructions
- Start by heating a large skillet over medium heat. Add the ground beef, diced onion, and minced garlic. Cook until the meat is browned and the onions are translucent. Drain excess fat and season with salt and pepper.
- In a bowl, combine the cream of mushroom soup and sour cream. Stir until smooth. Add the cooked meat mixture and half of the shredded cheese. Mix well to incorporate all flavors.
- Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Spread the meat and sauce mixture evenly in a greased baking dish. Top evenly with frozen tater tots, ensuring they cover the entire surface.
- Place the casserole in the oven and bake for about 25-30 minutes, or until the tater tots are crispy and golden brown. In the last 5 minutes, sprinkle the remaining cheese over the top and allow it to melt.
