- 12 oz (340 g) penne pasta
- 1 lb (450 g) smoked sausage, sliced
- 1 tablespoon Cajun seasoning
- 1 cup heavy cream
- 1 cup chicken broth
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 1 small onion, chopped
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 red bell pepper, sliced
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Fresh parsley, chopped for garnish
Instructions
- Heat olive oil in a large pot over medium heat. Add sliced sausage and cook until browned. Remove and set aside.
- In the same pot, sauté onion and garlic until fragrant. Add red bell pepper and cook until tender.
- Stir in Cajun seasoning and cook for 1 minute.
- Add pasta, heavy cream, and chicken broth. Stir to combine.
- Bring to a boil, then reduce heat and simmer until pasta is al dente, about 10 minutes, stirring occasionally.
- Return sausage to the pot and cook until heated through. Season with salt and pepper.
- Garnish with chopped parsley before serving.
Notes
- Adjust Cajun seasoning to spice preference.
- You can replace sausage with chicken or shrimp for variation.
