  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
  • For Mousse:
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 2 tablespoons sugar
  • 4 ounces semi-sweet chocolate, chopped
  • For Ganache:
  • 1/2 cup heavy cream
  • 1 cup semi-sweet chocolate, chopped

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9-inch square baking pan.
  2. In a bowl, whisk together flour, cocoa powder, baking powder, and salt.
  3. In a saucepan, melt butter over low heat. Remove from heat and stir in sugar.
  4. Add eggs one at a time, then vanilla. Mix until smooth.
  5. Fold in dry ingredients and chocolate chips.
  6. Pour batter into prepared pan and bake for 20-25 minutes. Let cool completely.
  7. Prepare mousse: Whip heavy cream with sugar until soft peaks form. Melt chocolate and fold into whipped cream. Chill until set.
  8. Prepare ganache: Bring heavy cream to simmer; pour over chopped chocolate. Stir until smooth. Refrigerate until slightly thickened.
  9. Spread mousse over cooled brownies, then top with ganache. Chill for at least 2 hours before serving.
