- 1 sheet of puff pastry, thawed
- 1 cup shredded sharp cheddar cheese
- 1 egg, beaten
- Hot pepper jelly for topping
- Fresh herbs for garnish
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).
- Roll out puff pastry on a lightly floured surface.
- Cut into 2-inch circles using a cookie cutter.
- Place circles on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
- Fill the center of each with shredded cheese.
- Fold edges slightly to create a thumbprint shape, pinching the sides.
- Brush with beaten egg.
- Bake for 12-15 minutes until golden brown.
- Remove from oven and spoon a small amount of hot pepper jelly into the center of each.
- Garnish with fresh herbs and serve warm.
Notes
- You can substitute cream cheese or mozzarella for the cheddar.
- Adjust the spiciness of the jelly to taste.
