Ingredients

  • 1 sheet of puff pastry, thawed
  • 1 cup shredded sharp cheddar cheese
  • 1 egg, beaten
  • Hot pepper jelly for topping
  • Fresh herbs for garnish

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. Roll out puff pastry on a lightly floured surface.
  3. Cut into 2-inch circles using a cookie cutter.
  4. Place circles on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
  5. Fill the center of each with shredded cheese.
  6. Fold edges slightly to create a thumbprint shape, pinching the sides.
  7. Brush with beaten egg.
  8. Bake for 12-15 minutes until golden brown.
  9. Remove from oven and spoon a small amount of hot pepper jelly into the center of each.
  10. Garnish with fresh herbs and serve warm.
