Ingredients

  • 1 sheet store-bought puff pastry, thawed
  • 1 cup chopped fresh broccoli
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1 egg, beaten
  • 1 teaspoon olive oil
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. Heat olive oil in a pan, sauté broccoli until tender. Season with salt and pepper. Let cool slightly.
  3. On a lightly floured surface, roll out the puff pastry sheet. Spread the cooled broccoli evenly over the surface.
  4. Sprinkle shredded cheese over the broccoli. Roll up the pastry tightly into a log.
  5. Slice into 1-inch thick pinwheels and place on the prepared baking sheet.
  6. Brush the tops with beaten egg for a golden finish. Bake for 20-25 minutes or until puffed and golden brown.
