Ingredients
Scale
- 1 large head of cauliflower, cut into bite-sized florets
- 1/2 cup hot sauce (such as Frank’s RedHot)
- 2 tablespoons melted unsalted butter or vegan butter
- 1 cup all-purpose flour or gluten-free flour blend for a low-carb option
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon smoked paprika
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Cooking spray or oil for greasing
Instructions
- In a mixing bowl, combine flour, garlic powder, smoked paprika, salt, and pepper. Gradually add water to form a thick batter.
- Dip each cauliflower floret into the batter, ensuring an even coat. Shake off excess and place on a prepared baking sheet or plate. Lightly spray with cooking spray for extra crispness if desired.
- Preheat your air fryer to 400°F (200°C). Arrange battered cauliflower in a single layer in the air fryer basket. Cook for 12-15 minutes, shaking halfway through, until golden and crispy.
- Mix hot sauce with melted butter in a large bowl. Transfer cooked cauliflower to the bowl and toss until evenly coated in the spicy buffalo sauce.
Notes
- For vegan options, substitute vegan hot sauce and vegan butter.
- Add honey or maple syrup to the buffalo sauce for a sweet-spicy variation.
- Adjust the spice level with cayenne pepper or chili powder according to taste.
