Ingredients
Scale
- 2 large apples (preferably Fuji or Honeycrisp)
- 1 cup all-purpose flour (or whole wheat for a healthier twist)
- 1/4 cup granulated sugar
- 1 teaspoon baking powder
- 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 1/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg
- 1/2 cup milk (dairy or plant-based)
- 1 large egg
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- Optional: powdered sugar or caramel sauce for topping
Instructions
- Peel and core the apples, then chop into small bite-sized pieces. Toss with cinnamon and a teaspoon of sugar.
- In a bowl, combine flour, remaining sugar, baking powder, cinnamon, and nutmeg. In another bowl, whisk together milk, egg, and vanilla extract.
- Gradually add wet ingredients to dry, stirring until smooth. Fold in the apple pieces.
- Preheat your air fryer to 375°F (190°C) for about 3 minutes. Lightly spray the basket with non-stick spray.
- Drop spoonfuls of batter into the basket, leaving space between each fritter. Cook for 10-12 minutes, flipping halfway until golden and crispy.
Notes
- For best results, use firm apples like Fuji or Honeycrisp.
- Adjust cooking time for smaller or larger fritters.
- Serve with dusted powdered sugar, caramel sauce, or your favorite toppings.
